Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

(1756–1791)

Inspired by Gluck, Mozart's series of comic collaborations (Così Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, and The Marriage of Figaro) with librettist, Lorenzo da Ponte, his works have retained their popularity ever since.

His "singspiel" The Magic Flute has never lost its popularity nor has works like The Abduction From the Seraglio. (1787) George Bernard Shaw said that Don Giovanni was the greatest opera ever written.
