Delora Zajick

Delora Zajick

(Born 24th March 1952 in Salem, Oregon)

Dolora Zajick is an American mezzo-soprano who specialises in the repertoire of Giuseppe Verdi.

She is arguably the leading exponent in the dramatic Verdian mezzo-soprano repertoire today and performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

She plays the part of Amneris in the spectacular (filmed) Metropolitan production of Aida with Aprile Millo and Placido Domingo - and in a filmed Il Trovatore with Luciano Pavarotti and Eva Marton (also from the Metropolitan) she plays the role of Azucena.

Here, Delora Zajick is pictured in costume as Jezibaba in Rusalka by Dvorak.
